With the launch of v8.10, there have been some changes to the already existing crossover between platforms. Crossover option gives players to play with other players that are using a different console or device that isn’t the same as theirs. Since Fortnite is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and mobile devices, the gameplay differs from one another. For example, if you are playing the mobile version it is high likely that you will not be able to stand against a PS4 player. Since consoles offers much more faster controllability over the character you’re playing. Same goes for PC gamers over console players. Though some people say that aiming with consoles are as fast as just using a mouse, this is something that a lot of people disagree on.
In the past Sony banned all crossovers between other consoles in PS4 games. This may have hurt Sony as Fortnite gained a huge popularity amongst all type of console players. Sure, Fortnite on PS4 has a huge base of players but that doesn’t mean that it’s enough for either Sony or Epic Games. So once again the ban have been lifted and from v8.10 update to present day players will be able to crossover play between PS4 and XBOX One. This will only be available for players who are activated the crossover play option on Epic Games website.
