Fortnite v10.10 Patch Updates

The first-ever patch update of Season X after the launch has just hit the live servers, bringing a new rift zone, a brand new limited-time mode, and changes to the B.R.U.T.E.

Retail Row

At the start of this season, we knew that there will be map changes throughout the season and when Tilted Town came in first, everything went into an unexpected direction with no buildin’, no breakin’. The same happens with Retail Row replacing Mega Mall. What’s interesting is that Retail Row will spawn hordes of Fiends from Save the World mode who charge at players.

  • Fiends may drop a weapon, ammo, or consumable upon elimination.
  • Fiends can not go outside of the Rift Zone.
  • Fiends will not appear in certain modes.

On top of this, the bug where destroying where a Chest or Ammo Container would be placed on would cause it not to be opened hasn’t come to a definitive fix but doing it so will automatically open it. The next v10.20 update will fix it according to Epic Games.

B.R.U.T.E Changes

B.R.U.T.E spawns have changed significantly. Although the wide majority of the community was hoping for a nerf, it hasn’t hit live servers with this update and it is still a question if there will be any nerfs regarding the mech.

  • Beginning of the Match
    • 21.5% chance that between 1-3 B.R.U.T.Es will spawn.
  • Storm 1
    • 44% chance that between 2-4 B.R.U.T.s will spawn.
  • Storm 2
    • 40% chance that between 1-2 B.R.U.T.Es will spawn.
  • Storm 3
    • 40% chance that between 1-2 B.R.U.T.Es will spawn.
  • Storm 4
    • 10% chance that 1 B.R.U.T.E will spawn.
  • Storm 5
    • 3% chance that 1 B.R.U.T.E will spawn.

Other changes on B.R.U.T.Es include

  • A targeting laser that appears when players load and fire missiles.
  • B.R.U.T.Es can now be entered directly from glider mode.
  • B.R.U.T.Es that are abandoned in the Storm will self-destruct themselves after 30 seconds.
  • B.R.U.T.Es will always reappear after 15 seconds when no player is in either seat.
